Linkview House History

The renovated house dates back to 1915. It first served as an old Town House of Jannies’s great Grandfather. Later it became a medical house/hospital where doctors would come and do all the vaccinations weekly in addition to basic health needs. Last but not least it  became a hospital where babies were born. 

The house carries the family history as Jannie’s dad was delivered here. Matron Swart, the local midwife took over the house and we later bought it from her daughter.

Many of the older locals were also born in the house…making it a treasured piece of the community we all love so dearly.

Our Story | Linkview Frankfort Free State

Linkview started as an idea on a patio in die Kruger National Park. We decided to open a guesthouse and immediately Corneel became part of our idea. As a team we allowed our imaginations to run free, undoubtedly giving flight to our dreams. We sculpted our reality of opening a guesthouse along with a coffee shop. Above all, creating a home away from home for the locals. Serving quality products with a ‘more is more’ approach is absolutely top of mind.

As our ideas turned into a reality, we also made our love and passion for beautiful objects part of the dream. Persian carpets, fine art and vintage collectibles with a flair for antiques as well.

Above all we would like to give all the honour and glory to our Heavenly Father who has blessed us abundantly.

Frankfort is en-route to popular towns like Clarens, Bethlehem, Senekal and Rosendal. Creates a perfect detour to Harrismith and Durban. Close to main hospitals, schools and amenities.

Guests can take a walk to the Wilge River a few blocks away and enjoy the charming peaceful character of the farming town with its sandstone buildings.
